The cheapest I could find was for an early March departure from London Gatwick – return fares are available for as little as £73.98. Prices are slightly higher from other airports – there are March returns to Malaga available for from £93.98 from Doncaster-Sheffield, Bristol and Birmingham.

Book cheap flights to Malaga in southern Spain with Ryanair’s sale prices. Deals available from Bristol, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Manchester, Birmingham & Stansted.
Ryanair Malaga flights
Ryanair currently has some decent prices available on flights to Malaga – although, as always with Ryanair, be prepared to add on all manner of fees for paying by credit card, taking checked-in baggage etc.
The budget airline is offering one way flights from East Midlands airport to Malaga for £20.99, with flights from Birmingham and Manchester are available for from £22.99 and £27.99 respectively.

Add the cost of checking in bags to the headline price for budget flights to Malaga – paying a little more with British Airways may work out cheaper.
Cheapest Costa Del Sol holidays
If you’re planning to head to the Costa Del Sol for a holiday, and are looking for the cheapest fares, it’s sometimes worth going beyond the budget airlines. The likes of Easyjet and Ryanair may offer the cheapest fares, but if you want to check in a bag or pay by anything other than a particular type of credit card, the additional fees can work out very expensive.
Baggage allowances for Malaga flights
Before booking, it’s worth checking the various baggage allowances with each airline. If it doesn’t suit your needs it may be worth booking with another airline that has a higher headline fare price, but allows you to take more baggage with you for free.
British Airways baggage allowance
For example, British Airways allows you to check a generous 23kg into the hold, and take one bag plus a laptop case or handbag on board. If you’re not travelling light, this may work out cheaper than the ostensibly bargain Ryanair price.

At the moment, British Airways is advertising one way flights to Malaga for from £59. That’s £118 return – not bad at all – and without having to pay a small fortune to take things with you. Book direct on the British Airways site to get the cheapest rates.

Ryanair, as usual, has got a sale on. Some tickets from UK airports to Malaga are on sale, although not for the £9 figure that is being advertised for the cheapest routes.
Leeds to Malaga flight sale 2011
Prices being advertised (before the often extortionate ‘optional’ fees and charges are added on, of course) include £20.99 for flights from Leeds-Bradford Airport.
Ryanair is also selling one way flights to Malaga from Edinburgh or Birmingham for £22.99, East Midlands for £20.99 and London Stansted for £22.99

The good thing about Malaga being one of the most popular holiday destinations for UK travellers is that there is an awful lot of competition between airlines to fly you there. This is both in terms of airlines flying from the same major airports, and choices of flights from smaller regional airports across the UK.
Price of Malaga flights
This means that prices for flights to Malaga from the UK tend to be pretty low. But where should you fly from and which airline should you fly with? Well, using a basic comparison with search engine Skyscanner (see box on the right to try yourself), I found the following deals by airport.

Cheap Easyjet flights to Spain
Anyone still yet to take – or, indeed, book – their summer holiday should take a look at the sale that budget airline Easyjet has just announced. Cheap flights to Malaga on Spain’s Costa Del Sol are currently available.
Easyjet sale 2011 | Belfast to Malaga flights
Easyjet is selling flights from a number of UK airports for surprisingly cheap prices. These include one way flights from Belfast to Malaga for £42.99 and Manchester from £25.99.
Gatwick to Malaga flights sale
There are also some fantastically cheap deals available from London’s Gatwick airport to Malaga as well. Easyjet is selling tickets for as little as £25.99 on this route.
Easyjet holiday prices
These prices, of course, aren’t available for every date, but the tickets can be snapped up for these prices on at least some dates between mid-August and the end of October 2011. Flights are best booked direct on the Easyjet website.

London to Malaga flights
There are plenty of direct flights to Malaga from London’s airport. There are none from Heathrow, but there are good options from Luton and Stansted.
Easyjet flight to Malaga from Gatwick
However, there is most choice from Gatwick. And this means that flights to Malaga from Gatwick tend to be the cheapest (although it’s no exact science). The cheapest deals can often be found with budget airline Easyjet, which regularly advertises sale fares on its Gatwick to Malaga route.
Thomson, Thomas Cook & Monarch flights from Gatwick
Other good options are those with Thomson, Thomas Cook and Monarch – holiday companies which operate their own flights. These are primarily aimed at people on package holidays to the Costa Del Sol, but it’s possible to book the flights without the accommodation.
Aer Lingus & BA flights to Malaga
The other flight options – possibly worth looking at if you want to check in baggage, as the extra fees often outweigh any fare savings – are with traditional airlines British Airways and Aer Lingus.
